Our story

We got tired of the same five sofas.

Living

Walnur was founded in Sydney in 2025, but it didn't start there. It started years earlier in homeware — rugs, furniture, and the supply chains sitting behind both.

That's where we learnt how the industry actually works: a piece leaves the maker at one price, passes through three sets of hands, and lands in a showroom at several times that markup, with a description that says "solid timber" and nothing more useful than that.

Meanwhile, every store carried the same five sofas.

So we built Walnur the other way around. We buy direct from the makers we've spent years working with, keep the range deliberately short, publish full specifications for every piece, and price it so that premier furniture is something an ordinary home can actually have.
